Color Club Eternal Beauty

Hey hey!

Today I have a new Halo Hues color to show you. Well, I don't know if it's part of the Halo Hues line or if Color Club is naming this collection something else... Everything was really hush hush. I got these online from a trusted seller so when they posted that they never released new colors, I was confused but then the next day they said it was okay and then I was more confused but all of that confusion stopped when I opened the package in the mail. HOLY HOLO!!

This new set of holos are brighter, darker colors than the original pastels. I love love love them! There's even a black one that I'm sure I'll swatch next...but onto the one I'm wearing today. It's called Eternal Beauty and it is a medium purple holo. I love love love it. It's really holo, even in low light. Formula was kinda thick and goopy on this. I put some thinner in it and it was perfect. The other new holos have a good formula from what I can tell. I love this. Here's a picture:

With Flash (please ignore the comma in the watermark -_-)

Stop drooling... haha, isn't she a beaut? I love love love this. I think this is the most times I've used "love" in a blog post hehe.

Now I'm not sure about purchasing information. I'll let you know when I know more. I know that you can order from @justricarda on instagram. I've never bought from her but she is a verified trusted seller on there (I follow quite a few people who buy polishes from her and no one has ever complained).

What do you think? Do you like this? Let me know, thanks for reading! :D

Lynnderella Pentimento

Hey girls!

SO before I get started, please please please please please do not judge me for buying Lynnderella after all of that drama and bull that went down. I may not agree with everything and how it was handled but I have to admit that the woman makes amazing polishes. So any negative comments...or comments about any of that drama, for that matter, will be deleted. Just a fair warning.

Today I have my first ever Lynnderella polish to show you. I didn't really understand the hype that there was over Lynnderella polishes. I mean, anyone can throw glitter into suspension base, right? Well, although I'm not going to drop mad money to own every single Lynn polish ever, I will buy the ones I like because she does make some really, really gorgeous polishes. The one I chose as my first is Pentimento. Pentimento is a multiglitter that's heavy on the white. And heavy on the multi, too. There's over 100 different types of glitter in this one. There's big glitter, small glitter, micro glitter, bar glitter, matte glitter, shiny glitter, holo glitter, dark glitter, light glitter, hex glitter, square glitter, bright glitter...you get the point.

I chose to layer it over my favorite spring-time shade, Essie Mint Candy Apple. I loooove MCA and I have 5 bottles of it to prove it. I would show you a picture of that on its own but when I went to take a picture I smudged a nail so I couldn't. I just placed a hex glitter over it and it was good to go haha. Here's what it looks like:

With Flash

No Flash

The formula on this was great, no fishing for glitter at all. And it better be that way, for the $22.50 price tag. It was not too thick or too thin, and it smoothed onto the nail very well, if that makes sense...let me try to explain. You know when you have a really dense glitter that is thick and you apply it and the glitter lumps and the clear base creates these weird streaks/brush strokes? Yeah well this didn't do that, lol. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and I have another Lynn on the way.

What do you think? Do you like this combo? Have you taken out your spring polishes yet? Let me know, thanks for reading! :D

I don't know if you'll care but...

... I got my wisdom tooth yanked out yesterday! I'm in pain but they gave me Vicodin so I'll be okay.

It was not as scary as I thought it would be, which pleases me. It was so...quick. They put me under general anesthesia...this is exactly how it went down for me: nurse walks me in and sits me down, puts blood pressure machine on me and these weird clasps on my wrists and a thing on my finger. The dentist comes in and asks some questions, tells me I'm gonna feel a little sting (which was a lie, it was a big sting) as he put the needle in my hand. I felt pressure in my hand, then my arm... I looked away, blinked, and my boyfriend was in the room telling me to get my stuff. I didn't feel a damn thing. It was so quick... I didn't even feel like I was sleeping, it just felt like a blink. It was pretty awesome. Now I'm in pain and it hurts to swallow sometimes but I think I'll be fine.

Which is great because school starts today. I know what you're thinking: oh great, now she has school and will post even more sporadically... NO! Not true. I will be doing my nails at least twice a week: Sundays because they keep me locked up...by they I mean my parents even though I'm 20 years old and should be able to have a social life....but that's besides the point; and Wednesdays because my boyfriend has a 6 hour organic chemistry lab and I have nothing else to do so those two days I'll probably do nail art...

Speaking of nail art, I want to get more into it. I really don't want to just do swatches anymore. I want to get into some pretty nail art. I bought some stamping plates that will hopefully get me inspired. I actually have a manicure to share today that features some stamping! (see, this post isn't all just blabber, haha) Let me showwww you:

This is two coats of OPI Care to Danse? with a glitter gradient of Different Dimension That is SO Fetch! on all fingers except my ring fingers, which I stamped a unicorn on (from MASH plate no. 39). Not sure if you can see the unicorn because I used a silver holo (Color Club Harp On It) to stamp it... let's see if I can possibly enhance the colors or something on photoshop... *goes to work*

Not sure if that helped... I suck at PhotoShop. In fact, the only reason I know how to watermark my pictures like that is because of Nailed It's tutorial... heh. Hopefully you can see it better? If not, take my word for it. It's a unicorn. A holo unicorn. It's pretty badass.

Also, I'm wearing Wicked Fast topcoat by Cult Nails here. I like it so far. It didn't dry as fast as I heard about but it dried fast enough and my mani still looks fresh today (I did these on Sunday morning). It's not as self-leveling as I'm used to with Seche Vite but it does level itself pretty nicely and it doesn't dry as hard as Seche so hopefully I won't get those weird cracks in my polish. Full review of the top coat after I've used up half a bottle because I feel that by then, I will know it well enough to review.

Now, dear reader, there is something that I need from you. Yes, you. Do you have any ideas for nail art that I can try? I've done leopard (many many times as it is my favorite print) and zebra. I want to try chevron and tribal nails. Maybe something floral (but not like the vintage roses I did before)... I don't know. I need some inspiration. Help? Please? :-*

So what do you think? Do you like this combination? How about that unicorn? Any nail art ideas? Let me know! Thanks so much for reading! :D

Born Pretty Store Nail Stickers Review

Happy Sunday!

Who am I kidding? I hate Sundays. So much. But I have pretty nails to show you so that's a good thing!

I have a review of nail stickers from Born Pretty. The item ID for these specific ones is 3817, the link is http://www.bornprettystore.com/12pcs-white-flower-snowflake-nail-tips-decals-stickers-manicure-p-3817.html. There's two sets, I got the one with more snow flakes because I didn't see the other one... -_-

I was still able to do a cute Valentine's Day manicure with them though. I'll show you that first, then do a more detailed review.

Heart and Cupid stickers over a base of OPI Pink Friday

Okay so about the stickers... here's a few points to make:

  • make sure your base color is COMPLETELY dry... completely!
  • position them exactly where you want them because if you try to move them, they either won't budge or take your color with them.
  • press down hard and make sure there aren't any bubbles or lifted spots in the stickers.
  • TOP COAT!
The designs in this set are really cute but I wish I would have gotten the other set...there's more flowers! Ha. Don't forget to use the code APL91 to get 10% off of your order at Born Pretty!

What do you think? Do you like this mani? How do you feel about nail stickers? Thanks for reading! :D

Illamasqua Noble with NOPI Sweet Dreams

Hey hey!

So Illamasqua is a brand that I've always wanted to try but have always been too broke to buy. I cannot afford it on a college budget. I was really happy when my boyfriend bought me some for Christmas. Today I have Noble to show you.

Noble is a nice bright turquoise-ish blue. It's like a robin's egg only...better. It's super opaque, too. For my mani, I only used one coat. Here's a pick-cha:

I do have to warn you, I had to adjust the colors a little bit to make this more true to life. It wanted to photograph as a light blue. For the glitter gradient, I used Nicole by OPI Sweet Dreams, from the Selena Gomez collection. It has green/blue and silver hex glitters with purple micro glitter. I'm pretty obsessed with glitter gradients atm.

What do you think? Do you like this color? How about glitter gradients? Thanks for reading! :D

Jade Delirio Rosa

Hey hey! I recently ordered a few (okay, a lot) of polishes from Llarowe, and they're all holographic! I've only worn this one so far because I'm debating on whether I should wear them now or wait until it's sunny. Not sure. Anyways, of the 14 polishes, 10 of them are the Jade Holograficos. I love love love each and every one of them!

Delirio Rosa is a bright, almost neon, medium pink holo. Think Barbie pink...in a holo...only brighter. I don't know how else to describe it. It's so pretty. I'll show pictures then get into detail after.

Jade Delirio Rosa in the Shade

Jade Delirio Rosa with Flash

Jade Delirio Rosa in the Sun
The formula on this is AWESOME. No balding, no dragging. It reminds me of the OPI DS holographics, even in the finish. These look like... Spectraflair frankens, to be honest. I love them so much. I can't wait to try the other colors. Dry time was quick, too. Top coat does not dull the holo effect at all. When the top coat is still wet, it looks like the holo is a bit more dim but when the top coat dries, the holo is vibrant. The wear time is good, too. It doesn't instantly chip like some holos tend to do.

One thing I do have to say about them is that they are TINY. 8 ml as opposed to the 15 ml found in OPI, Essie, China Glaze... you know. I don't mind too much, I'll just buy back ups of my favorites. They are really reasonably priced for holographics, only $7 a bottle.

What do you think? Are you loving this polish as much as I did? Let me know, thanks for reading! :D

Born Pretty Store Striping Tape Review

Hey guys! Even though my computer is broken, I'm still going to try and blog. I'm using my kindle for the typing and my phone for pictures. Please bear with me. Today I have a review of the striping tape from Born Pretty.

Specifics: this item can be found on their site here: http://www.bornprettystore.com/color-line-nail-striping-tape-design-lines-p-231.html. This is the listing for item ID 231; there are other colors available but I got the black one for review.

Packaging: the striping tape comes in a little baggie. Mine came in an envelope which makes sense because it doesn't need stuffing and such.

Use: the tape is easy to use and produces nice, clean lines. I recommend doing one nail at a time so that you can remove the tape before the polish dries. That gives the best results.

Manicure: below is a manicure I did with the striping tape. I used Color Club Cherubic as a base and Butter LONDON All Hail the Queen for the over color, as I call it.

Summary: I've never used striping tape before but this was really easy to use and I'm very pleased with the results. For the price, you really have no excuse to not try it. I now want to use it for every manicure. Ha.

Remember to use my code, APL91, to get 10% off!

Stay tuned, I have a review of some nail stickers soon!

As always, thanks for reading!
